I'm not mad on the Disturbed cover tbh. The feel of the original suits what the song is about more I think but the JC version of hurt gives the song a whole new meaning. No I think that's exactly what was intended. He knew he was on his way out and managed to completely change the song and make it work in that way. The whole album is pretty much that vibe. It's actually really good but sad as fuck.

He didn't say that. When asked if JC could cover it he was' wow what a honour, but didn't think it will work. When he heard the JC version for first time he said it was well made but it felt like his girlfriend fucking somebody else. Only later when he did see the video he understood what JC did with the song and he said ' I just lost my girlfriend because the song is not mine anymore
