desktop notifications for new chat?

is it correct that the new chat does not support desktop pop-ups for private messages? I have given FCN permissions for notifications in my browser but am not getting pop-ups for private messages

it's important for people who are deaf or have impaired hearing to have some visual pop-up like the old chat had, so they can be alerted of private messages while tabbed out

I have both notifications and "popups + redirects" set to allow and still nothing

ok thanks. I have push notifications enabled for both browsers in my windows system settings. popups were working fine for me on the old chat

these are the only 2 settings needed to enable push notifications:

- site permission granted in browser
- push notifications enabled on device

I've been using new chat for quite a while. I seem to remember getting push notifications on the previous version of new chat: the 2022 version that was used before old chat was retired. not 100% sure, but that's my memory

I want to say that push notifications got busted by one of the latest site updates, but I don't see anyone else reporting the problem. am I the only one? what about you, Stanthropical? are you able to see push notifications on your end?

Try clearing all cookies, cache, website data, offline data, whatever you can for FCN and don't block anything if anything of that sort pops up when you access chat again.

If you successfully cleared everything, you should see tips info on how to use the chat when you log in again.

cleared all cookies and site data for freechatnow and schat.freechatnow

also reset permissions to default and toggled notifications + popups back on

still no luck >.<

I got the tips info (the stuff with the "I'm already familiar" dialog) but no pop-up for "allow this site to send notifications" like you would expect

got a few DMs and no pop-up. I'm only getting sound notifications, no pop-up (sound was already working before I cleared cookies)
