What is your favorite hobby that you have?

Mine has become fishing.

Idk if it counts as a hobby, but I enjoy just going out to a restaurant or coffee shop and sitting alone with a good meal. Maybe read a book or something. One thing that COVID has taught me is how to enjoy my own company lolol.

If you can't guess by my screen name....reading is up there as a favorite...:D
I enjoy both non-fiction and fiction.

Favorites are ( not in any particular order ) :
J.R.R Tolkien
Robert E. Howard
Douglas C. Jones
Robert A. Heinlein
Poul Anderson
Rudyard Kipling

While I have many other hobbies and interests...reading is a joy that I can partake in anywhere.

Have you read any Robert Jordan?

I'm in the 8th book, Path of Daggers. His writing of women is killing me though lol
Yep...some writers sure show their thoughts through their character's words and actions....
I much prefer Heinlein and his female characters or his male characters and their attitude towards women.

Are those the cars with enormous drive wheels that basically spin until they melt and grip so the car goes off like a rocket?

Yep it is. They just spin the tires enough to get them hot for traction or grip to go down the race track. So much fun.

I like wood carving, I find it calming and satisfying making stuff with hand tools. Also it's a great way to make meaningful personal presents

I'll second that! Wood carving saved my sanity. I was a computer hobbyist turned software developer. I'd write computer programs for work, then come home and spend all night working on personal projects. Totally burned out after 20 years. Fell into wood carving one day on a lark. Hadn't done any whittling since boy scouts. I've also taken up hand woodworking recently. Good to get away from the computer and make something with my hands. And, yeah, great for one-of-a-kind gifts.

Recently, as the profile pic shows, I've taken up hand drumming. Loads of fun, and a more social activity than wood carving.
