Ghost Stories or other Phenomena

So I was mucking about in the True or False Rebooted thread, and a question came up about if I've ever seen a ghost. I said True. However.. it wasn't really the place to tell stories. So this thread is your chance to talk about any odd or strange experiences you have encountered.

Rules are simple, no judgement on any story shared. Stories must be personal stories.

@stonedBBW since you inspired this thread, I'll tell you one of my stories.

I grew up in townhouse in Edmonton, and one night I had been laying down in bed, I couldn't get to sleep. I ended up rolling over towards the door of my room, which led out to the hallway. As I turned I was surprised to see my mom standing beside my bed. I squinted slightly trying to get a better look at her, and I noticed she was looking down at me, as though I was in a baby crib. She looked a little different than usual, her hair was tied back in an unusual way for her. So thinking it was odd, I called out 'mom??' as I reached my hand out to touch her. My eyes lowered down her body, only to see that I could see through her.. and in that moment my actual mom walked by outside my door in the hallway. My eyes jolted up and what I had saw was gone. Chalking this up to, I'm tired af, I'm just seeing things I wrote it off. Didn't bother telling anyone about it.

Then one morning, a year or so later. My parents had separated, and it was now just dad and I. We sat at the kitchen table together and he told me, I saw the weirdest thing last night. Curious, I asked him to go on. He said while he was laying in bed, a woman had appeared at the end of his bed. He described her just as I had seen. She looked like my mom, different hair style, and just as me, as his eyes lowered to take her in, he could also see through her. In that moment he said she launched herself across the bed, causing him to sit up startled. And just like that.. She was gone.

Now I'm not saying that this is proof, I'm just sharing a story and hope that I'll get to read other people's encounters if they do so feel like sharing.

Eeek I inspired something! Oooooh scary tales! A trend I can totally get behind! Thanks for the share @VintageVixen !! :) id had my fair share of spooky tales to tell. So, here is one of many weird and unexplained stories.

So, I about 13 when I woke up in the middle of the night and I needed a drink of water. My room was next to my parents room, as I leave my room I looked into my parents I saw them sleeping and at the end their bed I saw my grandpa. I was shocked to see him there at that moment(it was super later). I remember blinking and looking at him and I whispered "grandpa? What are you doing here?" He looked up at me and smiled. He didnt say a thing. I blinked and he was gone.

It felt soo strange and sad because he was gone. Sadly the next day we got a call saying he passed away in his sleep. I want to think he was visiting his family one last time.

wow, thank you for sharing this story!!

here's another weird occurrence that just happened to me recently. I was visiting the city of Prince George, and I was standing outside my vehicle in a parking lot. I happened to look up and I saw this orange light above me, the way it was moving was so odd. It couldn't have been a helicopter.. way too low for an airplane.. and too large to be a drone. I told the person I was with at the time to look up and check out this weird light too. I watched this light move closer to me, then curl in on itself, like a sideways orange wave and poof it was gone.

I ended up finding this story in the news, I guess I wasn't the only one seeing it that night. Here's the article:

I used to be stationed at Topcliffe North Yorkshire, an old WW2 bomber command base that had three large hangers and the airfield still in use.

When we first arrived we were told by one of the out going regiment guys that the camp was haunted, but we all kind of laughed at it. Till one night, while on guard duty.

Me and another bloke were Patrolling near the hangers one night when we saw someone walk around the corner of one away from us. As it was almost midnight we knew no one should have been there, so we went to confront him. But as we rounded the corner there was no one there and no where he could had hidden and such.

When we went back to the guardhouse and told the guard commander. He told us it could be the ghost of one of the bomber crews that crashed on take off there during the war.

Apparently, spotting them every so often was a regular occurrence and there had been loads of sightings over the years.

Oooo. Thanks for sharing @Dogowar

This next story happened a few months back too. It was in the morning, my house was busy with everyone running around trying to get ready for school. I was home officing at the time, with Covid restrictions and all. Anyway, I had wandered into the washroom that is primarily used by my kiddos. I have weird OCD about the shower curtain being open, so I closed it and went on my way. Not long after I had to go back in to find a hair tie for my daughter, and I noticed the shower curtain was open again. Thinking it's just my kids, I closed it and went on my way again.

Shortly after this I dropped everyone off, and it was just me at home now. I started to tidy up a bit from the morning mess, and finding the hairbrush we used in the morning I went to go return it back to the washroom. That fucking curtain was open again. I knew I had closed it again before we left the house, and I was pretty sure I had been the last one in there before I dropped everyone off for the day.. shaking it off again I closed it and left once more.

Later on in the day nature calls, so I go back to the washroom, and once again that damn curtain is open. I've been alone now.. no one could have moved it. I'm trying to be logical.. maybe a draft.. the rod is sloped to one side more.. idk anything to explain why this keeps happening. I stand in front of it watching it like a crazy person now for the next 15 minutes.. testing my theories out. However, It stays closed.

Not finding an answer to this, I leave again. And you can bet your ass, the next time I walked in that curtain was open again. I left it. I was done with that game. lol

Someone was definitely messing with you hahaha damn tricksters lol and dogowar, always creepy when it happens at work and when other people had the exact same experiences.

There was this one time, I helped a friend paint a building for an opening for a new business, well it was just her and I finishing up the last of it. Everyone else left the building and I locked up. She went into the office and I went to use the bathroom. While in the stall I heard the next stall door close. I called out to my friend thinking it was her because we were the only two there. I didn't get a response, so I peaked at the floor to see the shoes. Well when I looked down it was a pair of construction work boots. I left the stall to wash my hands and didnt over think the boots lol. And figured my friend changed or something lol

I'm washing my hands and stairing at the boots in the mirror then my friend walks into the bathroom. I froze and was in shock and I asked if she let anyone in the building. She said no, I then asked her if she saw the boots in reflection in the mirror. She nodded and we both kinda freaked out and asked the person in the stall to say something....we waited like 2 seconds...we pushed the door open expectin to see something or someone but there was nothing there! Absolutely nothing, not even a pair of boots. It freaked us both out! We grabbed our shit and locked up and left.

I never went back to the building but she has told me some other weird stuff still happens. Lol

Great stories! I love scary stories, so I'm so glad you started this thread. Side note: I just discovered this podcast called Scared to Death, and they tell some really spooky ghost/paranormal stories on it.

Anywho, I have a few of my own.

One of my aunt's had married a man that was not only abusive to her, but that also tried to kill her a few times. After some years of marriage, they had a baby, and she felt like she was stuck in the marriage. He did change his abusive ways when his son was born, but he also turned back to drugs and alcohol. Finally, she decided that was enough, and separated from him. She got into a relationship with someone else, and got pregnant with her second child. In 2011, while she was pregnant with the second child, her husband (the abusive one) got cancer, so my aunt decided to take care of him, because they were still legally married, and he was the father of her first child. He ended up dying in the house that they shared. A few years later, my aunt had now gotten engaged to the father of her second child, and had given birth to a third child. One day, she asked if I could babysit the children for her, while she and her fiance went on a date to celebrate their anniversary. I agreed, and watched the 3 boys. The night was going smoothly, and the kids behaved for me. However, when I sat the kids in front of the TV while I was preparing dinner, I over heard the oldest child (4 yo at the time) whispering to someone, but I only heard one voice. I came into the living room, and saw him talking to a corner. When I asked who he was talking to, he just got quiet and sat back down to watch tv. I went back to cooking, slightly concerned, but just dismissed it. There was a guest suite located right off of the kitchen. I heard the bed creaking inside, as if someone was moving around on it, yet when I walked into the room, nothing was in there. I was starting to get spooked, but again, I dismissed the feeling. I fed the children, and as I was preparing to get the kids ready for bed, the oldest stopped at the door by the guest suit and looked inside. He said to me, "there's my dad." I looked in the room, and told him that nobody was in there. He looked me in the eyes and said, "no, my dad is in there." My heart fell, and I was ready to get the hell out of there. I quickly grabbed the kids and ran upstairs into the master bedroom, and locked the door. I called my dad and sister over to see if they could keep me company until my aunt and her fiance came back. Fortunately, nothing happened, but I couldn't get out of there fast enough. He was only 2 when his father passed away, and was too young to remember his dad. He had also been calling his (now) stepfther dad. Also, I don't know any 4 year old that advanced to play those kinds of jokes on people, so I honestly believe he saw his dad.

I love getting to read and hear others stories too. Thank you for sharing yours!!

So I use to joke about how I'v always had a ghost cat follow me. Every since I was a little girl. I get phantom ghost movements similiar to a cat moving on me or near me. Even to this day, when I'm curled up in bed reading a book, I feel like a cat just sat on my legs, I reach out thinking my actually kitty is there haha I touch nothing. (Odd as it sounds haha I still say hello kitty) well I mentioned it to a few people growing up and they think I'm messing with them haha and never really believed me.

Well until now! Ok so the other day, I had some family over and I turn in my water hose and got water alll over my deck by the pool. The area I got wet was soaked! Then all of a sudden! Little paw prints started to show up! It was sooo strange, the paw prints were completely dry but the wood around was still wet. I looked down and gasp and then laughed my ass! I swear this was from that cat that has been following me!Snapchat-503349784.jpg

These are all some pretty little creepy ghost experiences i've read ! some great stuff!

I have to say my experience (if it even counts as an experience) took place sometime back in 2020

I was in my room painting with my little sister who was 4 years old at the time. She is the typical toddler, learned how to say a few basic sentences and phrases. We were both just sitting on the ground painting. My room has a built in closet already, and the door was open a bit more than halfway. It was a fairly regular day from what I recall. Suddenly she just stood up as she stared at the closet, and kept repeating my name in an urgent and scared tone, saying "what's that?" and pointing at the closet. Of course, I didn't see anything. Just the clothes hanging and that it was dark. I figured she misinterpreted a piece of clothing as a silhouette and got scared. She moved to stand behind me, until I finally got up from the ground, assuring her there was nothing in there. I know when I recount this part, it always sounds cliché, but it's a feeling I'll never forget. The closer I got to the closet, a sensation I've never been familiar with took ahold of my whole body. It got harder to near the closet, it felt as if my body was hot and cold at the same time, it felt wrong. I couldn't breathe and i was trembling, and honestly, I didn't feel like proving a point to my little sister so I just had enough nerves to close the closet door quickly and walk away from it.

Kids are creepy things. Never liked them (sorry to any parents, i mean this in no offensive way). I like to chalk things up as being scared due to being influenced by my little sister's fear, but that sensation and feeling the closer I got to the closet...I'm not sure. She didn't watch any scary movies, and it was the first time she had ever done something like that. I still ask her about a few times now, "Remember what happened in the closet? What was scary?" She get's very quiet and just shakes her head. She turns 6 this year, so I hope it's something she and I can bury something in the back of our minds, because kids tend to be more vulnerable when it comes to seeing these things. But honestly, not afraid to admit I probably won't ever forget this incident, and how it gave me a fear of any open/half ajar doors and shower curtains.

so there was this one time, i was sitting on my couch watching some sort of tv show or something, and out of the corner of my eye, i could see a white orb fly from one of the doors that wad down the hall, into the kitchen that was right across from it. i didn't really think much of it, since all i caught was a quick glance. it happened again a few nights after, and i knew i wasn't just seeing things.

weird thing is, almost every time i go to the bathroom, the shower curtain will be wide open for no reason.
