I oftentimes make a big salad with a ton of different stuff. It'll often include tomatoes, lettuce/spinach, cucumbers, almonds/cashews/pecans, radishes, grapes, strawberries, blueberries, dried cranberries, carrots, cheese and I'll sometimes include chicken breast or ham. The variety and combination of these ingredients actually keep you full for a while and the nutrition variety is pretty good, I think. Quells cravings for fruits/sweets/cheese as well. I recommend this for anybody trying to get into salads and to expand their nutrition intake, but doesn't like a typical salad. Dressing can be anything from ranch, to just oil with vinegar and spices.
I'll sometimes have a baked potato with a salad when I'm hungrier or plan on not eating much that day.
Since I have so much rainbow Swiss chard and most lettuce has bolted during the heatwave, I'm replacing lettuce with Swiss chard on everything—in salads, sandwiches, etc... Is that healthy?
