Ummm desktops are all wired ethernet not on wifi (less latency) and yes I can type faster on a keyboard.

The only problem is you have to go there and sit on the chair whereas with laptop you are free to move around... still ethernet cables are faster than wifi + your fast hands

yes but my desktops all can run well... past their potential and still not thermal throttle don't see many laptops these days that can do that not that chatting makes them do that lol
