It's more of a suggestion. What I want to know is, can there be a way on chat that if you ignore someone it a) stays perm unless you unblock it yourself b) When you do ignore someone, that that person CANNOT see anything you're writing. It's silly that ignoring only works one way when someone can continue to see your writing/harass you to other chatters. Just a thought.
The setting is applied to your account only when selecting the feature, although they can't send you a private or a personal message after you ignore them. If you could have your personal settings affect other accounts, that would be... Well, wrong.
Because people who wrote the software (out of business for several years now) are amateurs. It may be an option with the next chat client. Until then, placing someone on ignore will prevent them from messaging you in private or publicly. Easiest way to ignore registered members is to add them to your "friend list," take a look at it upon log-in and place them on ignore from there. The list is very useful for tracking trolls and will show the member on the server, regardless of which channel they're in. There's no shame in taking advantage of all the features.
Sorry if I'm coming off as insensitive here, but can harrassment really be that big of a deal when you can effectively (from your perspective) mute whoever you wish? Also, I'm voting big no on thumbs up thursday.
That is an extremely valid point. I mean there are a few that I have to iggy, but they get to that point. So if they dont have your social media info, and are just doing this in chat, is it still harassment? I would almost go with no. Almost.
