Hmmm...
After reading many stories about religions and the afterlife, I really think that life as we know it might be either a test or a prison sentence.

Either how we live life and the choices we make is a test where we eventually get rewarded after physical death.
Where our age is just a percentage of the chance of dying from whatever cause.
So we have to make sure not to waste any second of it.

Or life is a prison sentence, where we get born into this world as punishment.
Where our age is set on when we are supposed to die, which ends our prison sentence.
