I don't remember the wall going up exactly (I was just 3) but I recall my mom thinking we needed to stop some wall... quite animated about it. I was trying to tell her what I wanted for my birthday coming up.

I do remember watching Alan Shepard's Mercury flight - start to finish - lol ... because she wanted me to remember something historic. It worked - lol.
