Calling a number for a recording of the local time and temperature
1957 Willy's Jeep 
Payphones on street corners. And the were a dime.
Fun fact- Payphones had 3 different slots for nickles dimes and quarters. Each slot had a tiny switch that triggered a tone. Operators were trained to listen for the tones so they knew which coin had been entered.
Which brings to mind the awesome 70s song by Dr Hook Sylvias Mother...
"And the operator says 40 cents more, for the next....3...minutes"
