I'm so old I remember when safely didn't matter and the whole school football team in the back if a estate car with the seat folded to squeeze us all in. No bubble wrap or cotton wool in site

Still have one for emergency use. Yes you can still use one. Still risky as cannot tell if card has sufficient funds.
Remember years ago spending £1.4 million and was put through one of these.

One place I worked had us call the credit card issuer & make sure they had enough credit left to make the charge...
