Intellectually Stimulated?

How important is an intellectual connection with your partner? Personally, I can be turned on by the usual physical attributes, pretty eyes, for example. But, if there's a real intellectual connection, like being with someone that can hold their own in a discussion about the arts, music, literature and film, for examples, that takes the attraction and turn on factor over the top.

I agree to a point. We don’t need to be able to discuss the merits of feudalism in 14th century Europe but it’s nice to have a conversation about something that lasts more than a few minutes. I mean, I don’t mind silence but only when comfortableness has been achieved because conversation has occurred.

It’s actually more important to me than physical attributes. A connection paints an aura of handsomeness on any man in my opinion. Like my signature says, in the immortal words of my man Prince, “You don’t have to be beautiful to turn me on.” The song doesn’t go on to mention the merits of conversation but it should. ;)

To me intillectual connection is really important. I’ve seen girls that I find very physically attractive, but after hearing them talk I lose all interest in them. On the flip side I have been attracted to girls that don’t necessarily have what I physically desire, but are very intelligent.

I've had similar experiences, one in particular with a woman that I spent usually an hour or so with on a daily basis. She wasn't unattractive by any means, just not my usual type, we started talking, just small talk at first, but the conversations over time became much more in depth and she could move from topic to topic with ease. It didn't take long before I started feeling very attracted to her and if I hadn't been in a committed relationship I would have definitely asked her out.
