This prompted me to google horny squid lol. Odd fact, some squid species display a "shot-in-the-dark" strategy where males indiscriminately inseminate any squid they encounter to make sure they don’t miss a chance with a female. Also the “hit n run method” is safer since some larger females can be cannibalistic.
