Taking a different approach this year—not snipping off any flowers at all. Allowing them to develop early. Hopefully the lesser amount of leaves is enough. I used to snip off the first flowers so the plants would develop more vegetation, which helps them fare better on scorching hot days, protects the fruit from the sun and helps fruit develop quicker.
