It's a frog lol as @bpm1234 says the vomit looking deflationary look helps it hide amongst fallen leaves in the rainforest.

I have done this as well as trained my cat to hunt them! Little buggers can wreak havoc on the produce if you turn your back for a moment!

Have always wondered if that really works.

It seems to work for us. We don't get anywhere near as many cabbage moths in the garden when we put those up.

I should add you also need to give them somewhere else to go. So we have a small garden bed that is left alone and to the moths and other pest insects. It also brings the good insects in as it gives them somewhere to prey.
