Not sure if its the same but in ZA we have a Jakaranda Tree they bloom every October then it looks like this (internet pic just to show you is the city Pretoria)View attachment 128536

Lol yes i have spell it as we spell it in afrikaans
We call them Jacaranda as well! ^ They're so pretty up top contrasting against all the other green foliage around but the the way the blanket the ground underneath is quite mystical too!!
In afrikaans the k normaly replace the c but sound the same. Yes it is if you google Jakaranda Boom in Pretoria you will see amazing photos the whole city turn purple it is in the exam time for students they believe if a flower fall on they head they will do very well

It's so beautiful to see them bloom in full force!! In this area they are around but only ever really one in amongst green trees every couple of 100 meters. There's a local hospital that used to have Nuns that nursed there in the 1970s and they started a tradition of growing Jacarandas from seedlings in a green house at the hospital maternity ward and every time a baby was born, they sent the new family home with a sapling to plant so that's why there's lots around my area but they're quite spread out! Cool huh!!

He looks Siamese, but isn’t. He’s part of a litter I rescued. The momma was grey, dad was black, his siblings were all black. So it’s a mystery lol!

I really like the good luck flower part, that's really cute and wow, I'm glad that these trees get to be experienced in other parts of the world and not just Australia!
