Once upon a time, in a kingdom far away
Lived a king named Tom the Third, they used to say
But this monarch's tale, my friend, is quite absurd
For he was not regal like an eagle , but a dove that purred
Tom soared through the skies, an eagle bold and high
With feathers of gold and a piercing eagle eye
His subjects cheered, "Hail the mighty king!
Tom the Third, ruler of everything!"
But fate played a trick, as fate often does
And Tom fell from his perch with a mighty buzz
From king of the skies to a bird with no pride
Poor Tom the Third landed with a thud, far and wide
No longer a monarch, but a bird of meek flight
Tom's feathers turned gray, his talons lost their might
He tried to give orders, but his voice was now weak
A feeble coo replaced his once majestic speech
The kingdom was puzzled, their king seemed to change
From a ruler with power to a bird that's quite strange
They scratched their heads, they scratched their chins
"How can our king be a dove that grins?"
But Tom didn't fret, he embraced his new role
He'd glide through the kingdom, bring peace to each soul
With a gentle flap of wings, he spread love in the air
His subjects found solace in his feathery care
He'd perch on their windowsills, singing a sweet song
Bringing laughter and joy, making right what was wrong
Though not a majestic eagle, his heart was still royal
King Tom the Third, the fallen king who was loyal
And so, my dear friends, the moral we see
It's not in our appearance where true kingship be
For a king is defined by his heart and his grace
Not by his feathers or his lofty embrace
So let us all remember the tale of Tom the Third
Who once was an eagle, now a dove that's absurd
For in his transformation, he taught us to see
A king is a king, regardless of what he used to be!
