I think it depends how people are feeling when they are here and where you are trying to chat.
In game threads it isn’t really appropriate, I tend not to chat in pm, but in some threads it’s easy to chat.

Well I think you have to remember that, especially in chat females get bombarded with pms. Here on forums I prefer getting to know people through the different games. Think there are a few others who are the same.
