Lilly's College Classes (and boobs)

Ok, this time I have a q for you!! I'm going to college for Social Work. I know it won't bring me a ton of money and I'm ok with that. At the end of the day I want to do what I love, what brings me passion and purpose. Did you go to college? What made you choose your current career? Are you happy doing it?

*As soon this post (((THIS ONE RIGHT HERE)))) gets 10 likes I'll post a boobies pic.
I went to college for 1 yr for Engineering in 1978-79 then started working in the oilfield. After 20 yrs (2000) I was making 100k+. I did return to college in 2015 for Engineering but still have 7 classes left. I lost interest due to many factors. College today is completely, totally different than 1978-79. It is much less difficult now to get a degree. In fact, a friend of mine with 2 masters and a recently obtained PHD in Education tells students to show up, turn something in and you'll get a degree. I know that wouldn't work with some of my recent Engineering classes (especially Statistics! Hated it, dropped it twice, still need it for my degree) but I actually did that with an online class - logged in when necessary but never turned any work in and got a C, crazy).
My experience has been that learning all you can about your job and the jobs pertinent to your field, showing up EVERY day, and having a positive attitude could very well get you success without a degree. I was studious in my field at work and learned all I could which helped me to get into a better paying field - safety and compliance. I will say though that I was happier being a production operator on offshore platforms than I was being a Process Safety Manager at a large natural gas processing facility in West Tx. The old adage " money or the pursuit of it doesn't bring happiness", I have found to be true. I did enjoy the varied "hats" I wore during my career though. Stay studious and positive and you will do grandly!

I'm done! Atleast for now...
I just received them in the mail yesterday ❤️

Associate in Arts for Social Work
Substance Use Disorder Professional Certificate

Well done.
We've never spoken before but I'm actually thinking of doing very similar qualifications in the near future. I've worked as a volunteered in the same field too. Again well done on achieving your qualifications.

Congratulations, Lilly! Party hard! You deserve it :)

I got the job!!!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️

I didn't mention it in this thread but I only applied at one company because it's the only place I want to work at, atleast starting out. They pay better than anyone and it's because their standards are high and the environment is highly professional. They accept state health insurance and support harm reduction. Perfecto! I will formally accept their offer on Monday and their Onboarding prices is 3 months lol so I'm hoping to start in January :D
