I’m a 32-year-old woman, recently divorced and without children, who’s just relocated to a new city. I grew up in a small town, where I was raised to be modest and reserved. I married my high school sweetheart, and while our marriage was stable, it was also rather uneventful—until everything changed when he left me for his secretary.

For the first time in my life, I’ve started working, and it’s in this new city that I unexpectedly cross paths with you. You’re someone from my past—older, wiser, and perhaps with a shared history we never fully explored.

It's shortly after you moved into your apartment and started your job we ran into each other at a coffee shop by your apartment. We were old friends from high school that drifted apart because your now ex was very jealous of any guys who you used to hang out with.
We chat for a while and you mention how your having some problems with stuff around the apartment. I offer to come over after my shift at the hospital to help out.
