Vroom. Vroom-vrooom. Vroom vroom vroooooom.
What in the fuck is going on?! Lucy rolled over, pulling her pillow over her head in an attempt to drown out the noise blasting through her window.
The noise happened again, this time she opened her eyes to stare at the wall, burning a hole into it with the intensity of the most powerful laser on the planet. The third time, her ears distinguished it to be a motorcycle, not in the distance or even on the street, but sounding more like right next door.
Vroom. Vroom-vrooom. Vroom vroom vroooooom.
The fourth time sent her over the edge and she shot straight up, her sheet falling to her waist. Who in the hell is working on a motorcycle at eight in the morning?!
Throwing back the sheet, she raced over to her window, peeking out from behind the curtain. In the neighbor’s driveway sat a motorcycle, its idling more subdued than the irritating revving of the engine. She searched for the culprit of who would have such the crazy idea of disturbing the peace so early. Her eyes didn’t pick up a soul and with a grumble and a sigh, she traipsed back to her bed, sliding under her sheets, their coolness wrapping around her naked body. Closing her eyes, she made peace with the fact she was awake, snuggling in, getting comfortable, slowing her breathing, all with the intent to drift off.
Vroom. Vroom-vrooom. Vroom vroom vroooooom.
Okay, whoever the fuck you are, this is bullshit. How fucking dare you ruin my first day of summer break from college?
Once again, she tossed the sheet aside, jumping out of bed, and grabbing for a pink tank top.
She added white shorts and she was down the steps in a heartbeat and to the outside without even bothering to stop to slip into sandals.
The motorcycle continued to idle, not anyone in sight. “Hello? Is there anyone around?”
No answer. She stepped closer to the neighbor’s driveway, now in the shadow of the garage, and even though it was warm on the Friday before Memorial Day, she felt goosebumps cover her body.
“Hey!” She yelled again, louder, more frustrated over how ridiculous this whole scene was playing out. She shook her head, turning, giving up on a peaceful morning.
“Miss, may I help you?” A deep baritone voice called out from behind.
She spun back around, the grass grinding under her foot. And she about fell over.
He was tall. Probably 6’3”, maybe 6’4”.
He was dark. Milk chocolate to be exact.
And he was handsome. A Greek statue to be exact.
He stepped closer, wiping his hand on an oily cloth he was carrying. His eyes dipped down to her chest, not lifting, not unabashed at his stare.
It made her look down at herself. Nipples is all she saw, protruding through the tank top.
Shit! I didn’t put a bra on.
Instinct took over and she crossed her arms to hide herself as she glared back, nodding towards the motorcycle. “Do you have to do that right now?”
He lifted his eyes back up to her, a grin plastering on his face, unspoken in saying he got caught looking but he didn’t care. “Why? Do we have a noise ordinance in the neighborhood nowadays?”
“Well. No!” She scoffed back, shaking her head, blond hair flying around her shoulders.
Chuckling, he moved to the motorcycle, moving some switches, and the bike shuts off. She stared dumbfounded over how much his muscles glided under his t-shirt, one seemingly a little small. It made his arms pop, the sleeves looking like they were cutting off circulation. The sun showed off his bald head and right then and there it was a turn on, especially with the small beads of sweat glistening.
“So why can’t I be working on my motorcycle?” Before she could even realize it, he was in front of her, peering down.
She looked up into brown eyes that were like little pools of mocha of which she wanted to dip herself into. “I-I was, well, um, I was trying to sleep in.”
“Where?” He replied, smiling down and she tightened her arms around herself to hide her breasts from his vantage point.
Twisting at the waist, she pointed, keeping her arm close, “Up there.”
“Hmmmm.” is all he said, looking up towards her bedroom window. “Sorry I didn’t check your schedule, Sleeping Beauty.”
Oh. Add humor to the tall, dark, and handsome. She wanted to giggle, biting down on her lip from having one escape, needing to keep up her chagrined girl personality so she wouldn’t jump in his arms and ask him to take her away. “Yeah you need to. Therefore thank you for your consideration of future manners of this sort.” She spun, trying to whip her hair into him, trying to add some spunkiness to his sarcasm.
She stomped back to the front door, faking with all her might indignation. She wanted to be sure she was in charge of the early mornings around here, not him. The breeze carried to her ears another chuckle speaking volumes he didn’t quite believe her attitude. And it wasn’t lost on her she could feel his eyes all over her ass.
Hurrying up the steps, she wanted back in the house, so much so she didn’t care if he saw her bouncing or not. Because as soon as she was behind the closed door, she slid down to the floor, heat generated from her core she had been tamping down now raging all over her chest and upward to her cheeks. She was flustered, with weak knees and breathing hard as if she had run a marathon. But the biggest effect he had on her was the excitement between her thighs, the light dampness felt on her shorts, how she craved after only a few minutes to feel him there.
Sighing, she pushed herself up off the floor to go back to bed.
Well Lucy, it might be quite the summer.
