At eight hours a day, a person pretty much spends a third of their life at the workplace. For those who hate their jobs, that’s a lot of life to live unhappy. Luckily for you and I, the workplace is a positive setting.
For you, the workplace is an escape from a personal life you’ve begun to feel trapped in. Having sacrificed a lot of your own happiness so that someone else can be comfortable. Home is a place where you are overlooked and underappreciated. However, at the office you have an entirely different second life. At the office you have me as a “work husband” who loves to dote on you and make you feel seen. Both of us in other relationships in our personal lives, we made sure to leave the flirting at the office after clocking out. Although, we have recently begun to text more when not at work. My giving you attention has made you a woman the other ladies at the office are jealous of, and the way they look at you only makes you feel better and more confident in yourself.
For me, the office is the chance to spend time with the type of woman I could’ve had if I hadn’t made such constraining personal life decisions so early in adulthood. I was a father early in my adult years, which led me to becoming a husband just as quickly. Few people make good decisions in love early, and I am no different. I love my kid, but my wife is a different story. My job is the only escape from my home life, and you make the escape an amazing one. I am aware of how the other women in the office talk about me, but my wife and kid had made it easy to avoid responding to the flirty attempts of others. Although a good ego boost, I see myself as a good guy and I try to stay loyal to the words “for better or worse”. You’re a woman I have enjoyed breaking my usual rules for, and after years of being good I am enjoying the small bit of being bad I allow myself to have.
We have yet to cross any lines, but that’ll soon change. It may be a business trip where the distance from our other lives allows us to indulge in this one. It may be our first night alone in the office without prying eyes. Maybe it’s simply a random time where we aren’t with our families, and we’re not coworkers on the clock, we’re just simply ready. Although we don’t know when, we both know that the question is “When?” and not “If...”
