The upside of going through something so traumatizing and earth shattering is that you learn how strong you are. So even though I still get scared, when I compare it to the big stuff... it's not as big of a deal at all

We might not understand everything. In fact, it's a guarantee we won't. Loved ones will hurt is, betray us, we'll lose people and things that are part of who we are. Sometimes they are our everything. I look at it this way, I am many things in this life. And I get to choose how I want to define myself. I get to choose whether or not to hold onto anger, resentment, pride, fear or embarrassment. It may take time, but I choose these things and no one will take that away from me. I get to choose to be strong, purposeful, loving and kind. I think I'll start by being kind to myself ❤
