I feel like that every now and then. Here's the issue that people like us go through - if we do not reach out or "seek attention", conversations fizzle away which we don't like (at least in my case)

Literally talked about this with a good friend yesterday. She doesn't want to bother me, so doesn't reach out. And I do the same thing, for the same reason. If neither does something, nothing happens. In the end we agreed, maybe just texting a single emoji will lower the mental barrier and start a conversation back up. Going to try at least.

From therapy I learned this is a very common behaviour from people who have feelings of inadequacy. Which totally matches me at least. But if we don't try to reach out, we will keep feeling lonely and disconnected. And often for no reason.
