I am curiously content with it, as I have always found social skills something I have to work at and be aware of: but I look forward to it too, and to entertaining and cooking too.

I've definitely found benefits of taking time out etc, but the longer it isn't possible to actually make new friends and meet new people, the longer I will struggle, and I don't want to have no proper social circle for years to come

Well good that there is always this site and many more to act as a substitute for the meantime :) ...Have to roll with it and see where it goes :) x

Yes, and I am lucky to have established friendships that we maintain online now: I think it is incredibly hard for those who are making new friends or different ones.

I find this spite a sort of lifeline in some ways, and also it opens my eyes to different forms of friendship and social interactions (euphemism there...). I would never be so open about sex, and sexual desires, for example, with my long term friends: and by contrast I also enjoy the silly forum games which I would never have played had we not been socially isolated. So for me it has also led to re-evaluating some of my attitudes.

It just takes time to make the right connections. Just like the real world :) ...But good connections can be found :) ...Sit back for a little while and Look, Watch and Observe others...You will know soon enough if their personalities match yours :) x

lol This place will make one re-evaluate at lot lol :) ...Chat sites have a way of getting one to invest in "You Time"...It's a good way to strengthen your Mental health. A good way to Heal and Grow and to connect with others :) ..Others that are the same as us and others that are not the same :) ...And it beats looking at four walls all the time lol :)

I find it interesting (being naturally introspective) that while in real life I sort of do sit back and watch and think how to react, who I like and so on; here on line I am much more impulsive and jump in more readily - I can sort of play with being a less cautious, more adventurous me, which is fun. I will wait and see if any of this carries over into real social life when that resumes.
