Hmm, I think maybe the use of the word ‘ass’ in this context is an American figure of speech, and perhaps you are from elsewhere?
Why do people posts nudes on here and say rate me? How does that help you in any way? Not like the ratings get you any goodies.
I keep asking myself that even witness when the rating was not good how they fight over a to low rating
I'd guess one reason might be vanity, or more precisely, somebody's vanity driving them to seek validation.
Another might just be people's innate fear of uncertainty. In other words, perhaps they are just unsure whether others find them attractive, and that bothers them, and so they just post a picture and ask for a rating so they'll know for sure. Seems risky, though, because I'm sure somebody who does that is hoping people with rate them highly, and if they don't, it ain't gonna feel good, maybe even worse than not knowing in the first place.
Just my 2 cents, I'm sure there are lots of other reasons.
I can empathise with the desire to be admired: and to show oneself. If I did* it wouldn't be for any concrete reward - perhaps not even for the rating.

I don't really get the rating thing either. If I post a picture (I occasionally do

Recently there has been a surge of "women" posting web pics asking for rates, thoughts or comments. Some of them are so obvious, I don't even need a reverse picture search. Yet they will get dozens of replies. At the same time, look at the "male physique" thread. No appreciation, participation or encouragement from women. I understood this site as participation website, where everyone is allowed to express his/her sexuality and/or feel a bit naughtier than in "real life". It feels like that mindset is less and less present...
