Thoughts Post your little thoughts.

I first came to FCN a few years ago looking to meet new people and have some fun. I quietly observed for awhile and learned a few things, then when a member posted something that I connected with, I took a chance to introduce myself. We hit it off and became friends. We had such a great connection that it all seemed as if it was meant to be. It was all so wonderful . . . until the day they ghosted me. Things change -- people, life -- some friendships seem to run their course. Other than that I have no idea what happened. It's not the first time I have experienced the end of a friendship for seemingly unknown reasons. I can be shy and quiet, and making new friends is not an easy thing, so maybe that makes it harder when a friendship ends. I have come back to FCN again, hoping to meet new people and have some fun, but I don't feel much confidence in the prospect of making new friends, or maybe I'm just a little gun shy after being ghosted.
Hello Mr Air :) ......And now you have just met a new friend :) xox

As a customer service agent I talk to people all day long over the phone, from all over the USA, from many different walks of life. When I get off work, I spend some time on social media. Speaking generally about society, at least on some days, we are, frankly, just a bunch of jerks. We [the royal "we"] do not have patience with each other, we are not nice to each other. We seem to be intent on proving how clever we are with the perfect cutting one liner. We get our jollies by belittling and denigrating people who disagree with us or see things differently than we do. We are also intent on getting what we think we are entitled to and we don't care who we step on to get it.

This makes me sad and I don't know how to fix it. I do know this, however: Kindness begins with me.

I like to try and bypass the negative things and people in my life if and when I can. Why add unnecessary pressure. Kindness does indeed start within one self and from there it radiates to the next person :) I try and not bring the ugliness I see on a day to day basis home with me . People are people . Running the same race but at different speeds. Shine your kindness and let it touch Souls along the way :)...That's how we do our bit :)

I used to be good at bypassing the negative and I used to be unflappable at work. The last two and a half years have been very difficult, testing me to the core, and I am not as unflappable as I used to be.

"You never really know the true impact you have on those around you. You never know how much someone needed that smile you gave them. You never know how much your kindness turned someone’s entire life around. You never know how much someone needed that long hug or deep talk. So don’t wait to be kind. Don’t wait for someone else to be kind first. Don’t wait for better circumstances or for someone to change. Just be kind, because you never know how much someone needs it."

I decided long ago, never to walk in anyone's shadows
If I fail, if I succeed
At least I live as I believe
No matter what they take from me
They can't take away my dignity
Because the greatest love of all
Is happening to me
I found the greatest love of all
Inside of me
The greatest love of all
Is easy to achieve
Learning to love yourself
It is the greatest love of all

Well done Whitney lol

Well said. I said something similar and was met with rioters and pitchforks. Telling me to accept demeaning humor because it was a joke. Keep doing you and be fabulous

It has been my experience that those who tell other people to lighten up or have a sense of humor don't do any better when the shoe is on the other foot.

It appears that there are many today who confuse kindness with weakness, common courtesy with political correctness, cruelty with strength, and, inexplicably -- to me, at least -- see crudeness as an antidote to political correctness. In fact, kindness and meekness are strengths, and cruelty and crudeness are weak. In a world where we can be anything, we should be kind. Kindness is never wasted. Charity (pure love) is the greatest of all, and without it we are nothing.

♥️ to a narcissist it means nothing they refuse to listen or put themselves in someone else's position

I love him for what he meant to me, but i refuse to let the bastard and his hostile croney break me

You have every right to protect and defend yourself. Refusing to be hurt or lied to is not hateful or unkind. If an abuser refuses or is unable to acknowledge their wrong choices and are not trying their best to make changes, there is nothing that says you have to keep them in your life.

Firm boundaries established with kindness, respect and communication are critical to healthy relationships. We should state our boundaries clearly and calmly. Forgiveness does not mean we must tolerate continual dishonesty, manipulation, or abuse.

not going to lie, it hurts my heart. i absolutely adored this person and believed i had made a life long friend. so to have them turn on me in such cruel way when i needed them most has hurt me
