"There's something inside that fucking hurts me every time
I've tried every single pill to help me chill, and I'm not satisfied
One minute, I'll be fucked, and the next minute I'm fine
I can't believe myself, I'm overwhelmed, I think I've lost my mind
Don't romanticize my life
I need a redesign" - "redesign" by awfultune

"Every day, the psychologists urged us to step back and identify why were experiencing negative emotions. In other words, take a minute to really be conscious of the emotion, instead of just letting it seep in. Don't let your mind stay in neutral. Watch your thoughts. Refusing to get out of bed, or to go to work, or smile at others are all decisions. Find the reasons for those decisions and turn negative feelings into some positive actions. It's not enough to identify why you're feeling bad; it's about having the character to do something positive to take up that space. And don't wallow in your misery, which is just childish self-absorption. That was all good stuff. All I ever need is a good operating manual. The clinic helped me to not jump to conclusions about people, and to see things through their eyes before I just assumed they were stupid and my enemy."

a few of those behaviors sound like an episode of major depressive disorder, and when you're having an episode of major depression sometimes sitting up in bed or even eating or bathing is a feat for that day

Kindness isn't just putting on a fake smile and agreeing to everything. Kindness is staying in your own lane, recognizing someone might need help & stepping in for a while. It means forgiveness, respect, honesty, patience and self-control. Kindness is realizing that the world revolves around almost 8 billion people, not just you. Some people are kind some of the time and others rarely. But it's the ones that are kind most of the time that are truly special. They remind us of all the things that we are too selfish to hold onto. They can even remind us of all the things we don't like about ourselves, which can cause us to be hateful. Kind people are aware that everyone is battling things unknown to others. Kindness is their super power.

"Smart impresses me, strength of character impresses me. But most of all, I am impressed by kindness. Kindness, I think, comes from learning hard lessons well, from falling and picking yourself up. It comes from surviving failure and loss. It implies an understanding of the human condition, forgives its many flaws and quirks. When I see that in someone, it fills me with admiration."

I looked in a mirror yesterday and didn't look away from the person staring back at me.

Then I had my world shaken to the core with words and actions that I never believed would ever happen.

Sometimes the vision we see of ourselves is not how others perceive us. Sometimes is it worse and we have to ignore them. Others it is far better and we have to learn that we can be beautiful.
