Thoughts Post your little thoughts.

I'm very late even though it's been a week, and I don't usually comment on current events on this forum, but I feel compelled to now:

The fact that Russians are protesting the war against Ukraine EN MASSE tells us it isn't Russia vs. Ukraine. It is one very sad, strange little man against a country he wishes he could have power over as a throwback to the Soviet era.

My thoughts are with both the Ukrainians and the Russian protestors. Fuck that piece of shit dictator.
Not sure why someone doesn't take him out. It makes no sense.

It's pretty high-risk because he's got a lot of security, a lot of money, and evidently, on top of being hair-trigger-tempered, he's quite trigger-happy. It's much easier said than done. He may take himself out though...in a bunker, as a throwback to 1945.
I just hate the political crap that stops us from going after him. I know the seals couldn't get it done quick, but I am sure they could.

Anyone else find it weird that the media is all hung-ho over the Soviet Conflict (not picking or stirring up shit!) but for the past two years have been lied to about this “pandemic”…. So what now? We’re just supposed to believe everything as gospel and jump and the trains?
I don’t trust anything coming from the media anymore! yet alone something I can’t do HONEST research on!

In the development stages of writing a book of essays with friends. Finding women in our demographic that we dont know is proving to be a challenge. Today is brainstorming where to find them.

Trust no one, question everything, do your own research, consult multiple sources, get the facts. But be prepared to accept facts that disagree with what you believe.

In general, it appears, most people do not like to question their assumptions, do research, or read things they know they are likely to disagree with, but doing those things is the price of intellectual honesty.

We need to make a conscious effort to read things we think we are going to disagree with. We have to admit to the fact that we are not always right and even somebody we disagree with a lot may have an idea that's better than ours.

Objectivity is a hard thing and we have to exercise it. We need to examine our own ideas continuously to make sure that we are right and not doing something stupid.

I think sadly, the average person is too lazy to do this and would rely on others opinions and take that as fact instead of independent thinking and decision making.
