In August of this year I lost my father and I'm just wondering if anyone else has lost a loved one how does one cope how long does it take to move on with loosing someone so close to you or does one ever get over it

I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your father.
Grieving is a unique and personal journey. There's no specific timeline for moving on, and everyone copes differently. It's okay to feel a range of emotions.
If you're comfortable, sharing your thoughts and feelings with friends, family, or a professional counsellor can be a helpful step in the healing process. Be kind to yourself.

I’m sorry to hear that. When I lost my Granny who I was incredibly close to I asked a similar question. The truth is that it is different for everyone. We all grieve in our own way, there is no right or wrong way or length of time.
Speaking about how you feel is really important. For guys especially it’s a big step because we tend not to open up about our feelings

First off, I am very sorry for your loss.

I have some advice. After going through some similar things this year: I know it's really dismissing to hear "time heals all wounds" - but really. After time passes, it becomes easier to deal with. In the meantime, for me personally. I got back into making art (or hobbies I once abandoned) I think keeping your hands and mind busy helps. Therapy and counseling is also recommended because sometimes talking stuff out is helpful and they can suggest healthy way to grieve. I think joining groups in hobbies you like, going to events, seeing your friends and family, and generally meeting new people can be helpful too.

Also, I think it's healthy to grieve. If that's crying, listening to music, being by yourself. You should be allowed to get upset and have those feelings. I think sometimes we have to take small steps when making progresses. Be kind to yourself.

Thank you all for the kind words I have been dealing with it in a different number of ways and no day is the same I am just trying to keep busy and keep moving going from there I am always listening to music so that has been helping out

I'm sorry for your loss. For me, the toughest time was around the "death anniversary". What helped me, was distracting myself and being there for others that are grieving too.
