Beach boys are so complicated. They have so much amazing music, and so much terrible music. Basically anytime Brian Wilsons mental health was really suffering they put out terribleysic because he was barely involved.

My dad is really into the beach boys so I grew up hearing lots of it.
Also, my absolute favourite beach boys adjacent thing is Dennis Wilson's solo album Pacific Ocean Blue. It doesn't sound at all like the beach boys and it really shows that even though Dennis really didn't have much involvement with the group, he was an incredible artist anyway
