Im probably too dumb to explain it.
Basically he was a random dude, who was a pretender to the British throne. Claimed to be one of the princes that Richard III locked and murdered in the tower of London to claim the throne.
He even managed to convince the sister of the twins he was her brother and got support and an army together.
Also I read up more about harthacnut and it seems he was more a full on cnut

Harthacnut had his half brother and predecessor to the throne Harold Harefoot exhumed, cut his head off and then threw it in the Thames just for shits and giggles.
I also raised taxes. So could of been a wicked labour politician 
And...I responded to incidents of rebellion with extreme force. For example, I burned down the city of Worcester after its citizens killed two of my tax collectors.
