I think it’s just so people show bobsI think it stated as a way of getting rid of all the fattening things in your house before lent (I'm wrong that's not it but it's something along those lines) the over time became either a chance to eat pancakes. Or a chance to party and get fat.
Fat Tuesday.. Or Mardi Gras
Definitely sounds right. I don't need help getting rid of the fatty things in my houseI think it stated as a way of getting rid of all the fattening things in your house before lent (I'm wrong that's not it but it's something along those lines) the over time became either a chance to eat pancakes. What's that?I do miss going to the Maundy Thursday service tho
It’s part of Holy Week, the week before EasterWhat's that?
Silly people!people really still be up at this hour, whaaaat
I always liked this tooIt’s part of Holy Week, the week before Easter
Maundy Thursday commemorates the Last Supper and Jesus getting arrested. At the end of the service at home they always do this thing at the end where they take away all the fancy vestments and candles and stuff and dim the lights
Then when you go to the Good Friday service (commemorating his crucifixion) the sanctuary is all bare
Then you go on Easter Sunday and tadaa, everything’s all bright and fancy again
