If it is a house your vent pipe might be blocked if you can go outside and check it, but if it is clear it could be a main blockage. You can use a plunger on the shower but it is best to call someone to get it unclogged depending on where you live if it is an apartment and such. Hair and soap scum plus grease are the worst for drains
I personally have used dish soap and then pour hot water down the drain to get it unclogged

Yep I've done all that. Pretty sure the issue is further down with the main line. Everything is literally brand new in my bathroom
Too much of a hassle just by a new house?
Since your bath/shower is your lowest spot fill it full of hot water then use the plunger on it after your toilet is full of water. I figure that might help or the main line is clogged so bad they need the drain snake
Plumbers are expensive 
Effort is worth it but yeah a new house is an option
