Banter Random Facts About Yourself

When I was 7 or 8 years old I caught a severe fever that lasted 2 weeks. One night when the fever reached it's peak, it started to get delirius. I stood before my brothers bed (sharing a bedroom) and started screaming. As reaction my brother started to scream too so the whole house was wide awake. In the moments that followed my parents tried to cool me down (my temperature was 41°C/105.8°F)
with cold towels and luckily that worked. My brother recently told me that he never has been more affraid in his life. And that it was quite humurous also because in my strangeness I sat on the couch pointing my stuffed dog (Moffel) towards the tv saying: "Moffel does not want to miss this"

Lol that's awesome

Ever try your hand at iambic pentameter or is it metre free? I use metre but haven't written one in a while.

I've experimented with metering, but depends on the mood and what I'm writing for tbh. Lyrics often have a different flow and cadence than say a short love poem, so the rhythm and meter would be different. I'd be interested to see your style!

Ah I see. I've never written lyrics, even the songs I used to play were based on poems (non-metre) before they were ever songs.

I joined a poetry site ages ago and the critiques on my metered stuff I received were dire. From posts like "you sound like Yoda" to "are you stuck in the past?" to name a couple so I probably wouldn't post online again.

Thing is the archaic pronouns and poetic contractions help you free yourself within the constraints of metre. I'll pm you one instead a bit later. I used to write english sonnets.

That'll be dope! Art's funny like that, it's true depth, meaning, and beauty are only truly known to its creator. Don't let the haters get you down bro and follow those passions.
