Banter Random Facts About Yourself

Im banned from eating junk food at home so I just watched 30 mins of Oceans 8 so I could have popcorn, a hot dog and coke. Coming back tomorrow for pretzels, nachos and another 30 mins.

I am both a genius (I.Q.)
and dislexic.
True fact, not a joke (for once, lol), and related to Play's post here:

I have dyscalculia. Kind of like "numbers dyslexia," although there is a lot more to it than just mixing up numbers. You simply can't understand numbers much of the time. It doesn't affect many people, but affects more than you probably realize. I can't perform math above like a 6th or 7th grade level. (Algebra and up). Not making any claims in regards to my intelligence, but oddly, this disorder is mostly found in people with higher than average intelligence.

The good news? I have yet to find one single instance in the real world (outside of school) where I needed to know how to do algebra. Literally. I don't see that changing. So the only way this even affects me a little is that I often mix up numbers like you mix up letters, Play. It can be annoying, but I would imagine not as frustrating as regular dyslexia, as most of us encounter letters and words much more often than numbers. So I might occasionally show up at the wrong address or see the digital time wrong or fuck up the "count down and show some skin" thread, lol. It all cool!

(Also to be clear: not everyone who has dyscalculia mixes up numbers like me, a numbers dyslexia as I call it. These can be two separate things, I just have them both.)

My neighbor actually had Dyslexia and it did affect how he saw numbers like you Tallulah... I tutored his son in algebra and math so that's how I found out about what he had. Kinda crazy how some things we can all relate to in some degree....
Wait what were we talking about again...?
Right! Hey, I have double jointed Thumbs!

At one time, I was a pretty damn good drummer. Definitely drum&bugle corps good. Then my parents moved me out of the school district and I was bitter for a long, long time (still am?). For the past twenty years I worked a job I loved, a wife for 10 yrs I loved and now am starting something new! Bring it on...

I collect swords and blades, 1055 carbon tempered steel type. My daughter and I took private classes on how to strike with a katana.

Now will never win a sword fight. But if we ever get first strike. You can be sure to lose a limb or head. (Yup, blades are that strong)
