Very. Your thoughts are literally you. Every ounce of you. Everything you do or done is you. If that's mantra to dodge self-reflection, accountability, bad habits, etc, you're on a path of denial.
Everything you experience in life, including trauma, accumulated beliefs, morality, etc—everything that shaped your identity—is literally you in every way. You are the one steering your thoughts based on all of your beliefs and comprehension of reality. If you think you're lazy, you probably are in some or all ways—FIX IT. If you discover that you're a walking black hole of cognitive dissonance, do something about it.
There's nothing wrong with self-awareness. The wrong part is when you're not taking steps to correct things which bother you about yourself.
