Tombili the cat passed away in 08/01/2016.To keep her memory alive, her fans started a petition urging the local government of Istanbul to build a commemorative statue of Tombili. The petition acquired more than 17,000 signatures. Hundreds of people visited the memorial sculpture to pay their respect

that's nice :) Sort of like that snow dog in the Artic :)
 
@MissLed - I know of Hachiko. The dog who was loved by the father but not by the rest of the family. So the dog walked with Dad to the train station every morning. The Dog would stay at the station for the day. The people in and around the station slowly become aware of the dog's love for the man. When Dad returned back on the evening train, the dog would return home.

One day the Dad died in the town he was working, and he never returned. Hachiko never left the station and died waiting for the Man. The station has a memorial for the most loving Shiba Inu - Hachiko (1935)

I have been there and seen this statue, it’s right next to the famous Shibuya crossing. Lots of people go there to pay their respects to Hachiko
