For those who don't know i'm really into parrots. Alex the parrot was a study done that shows that African grey parrots can actively learn concepts like colors, textures, and very basic math and it's not just repetition.

That's quite brilliant. That is sheer cognitive skill and problem-solving.

There was an experiment done with crows in Japan.

They first gave them nuts over a period of time. Crows slowly got into the habit of loving nuts. Then they gave them walnuts that were hard to break. Crows starting taking them up high in the air and then dropping them to let the gravity do the job. Post that researchers gave them harder nuts, those nuts could not get broken by the free-fall of gravity.

Soon they found crows flying away with the nuts, to their amazement crows were taking the nuts to the highway and let passing vehicles destroy the nuts for them. However, this slowly also resulted in many crows getting hit by vehicles. Crows post that upped their game. They took the nuts to pedestrian crossings. Let the nuts get crushed by passing vehicles, and when the lights turned red they would gobble them up.

That's honestly not shocking to me. Crows are so intelligent! Absolutely crazy they realize how heavy cars are and what traffic lights mean so they can observe their surroundings like that. They are great adaptors and they are capable of memorizing faces so they remember anyone who scares or upsets them. So amazing!

Caño Cristales

In the summer months, this Colombian river turns red. Actually, the river bed is covered by a unique species of plant, and that is what turns red. Another one of those mysterious places on earth underwater. The river is commonly called the “River of Five Colors” or the “Liquid Rainbow”. It has been called the most beautiful water body on Earth
