(This RP is based on a book I am writing [or trying to]. Be prepared for longer posts and fewer interactions)
You are a girl in your 3rd year in college. You are not any genius, but you took your studies very seriously and that was noticed for some people. Your life has not been easy, but so far you managed your way exceptionally well. You had a part time job at the local mall and your parents send you an allowance every month to help you with your expenses. Cash was short, but you had a decent life until a few months ago. Due to situations beyond your control, you lost your job and your parents' business collapsed due to a gas explosion in the restaurant next door that, in spite of harming no one, destroyed half the block. They had no choice but to cancel your allowance. You can eat, but not much more. You are late with your rent and the landlord is threatening you with eviction. Today, during classes, you were called to talk to an administrative clerk. If you don't pay the college in 30 days, you will be expelled.
You are devastated. All your dreams are crumbling before your eyes. Overwhelmed by despair, you ran and hid yourself in the bathroom, where you collapsed in a corner crying. Then you hear someone's voice:
"What is happening with you, dear?"
It is Camila, another student one year your senior. She is not one of your acquaintances, but you know who he is by sight and for what people told you. She seldom comes to school very well dressed and lives in a large apartment nearby, but it was not always like that. You remember how she was before. You don't know what happened but people talk. They say she does "things", but when you ask what kind of things, people just say: "You know. Things!" You never bothered to find out exactly what she does. It is not your business after all!
"Tell me, darling, why are you in such a state?" - she insists
You explain your situation and how you feel about abandoning your studies. She asked how much you owe. You tell the figure. She opens her purse and writes you a check. It is more than enough to clear your debits.
"I will help you just this once. It is my turn to do it. Here. Take it." she says giving you the check. "The next time is up to you."
You want to refuse the check, but it is your only hope. You tell her that you will not be able to repay it.
"You are not supposed to pay me back. You are supposed to pay forward at the right time." - she explains - "I wrote an address on the back of the check. Stay there Saturday at 8:00pm. Edgard will take care of you. You are ready to learn it and be free."
You tell her that you don't understand. You ask why she is doing that for a complete stranger.
"You are not a stranger to me. I've been observing you. You have potential. I was helped once, when I was in your shoes, and now it is my turn."
You ask what kind of potential she is talking about.
"You have the potential to be set free. Don't try to make sense of it now. You have much to learn. Just go talk to Edgard and don't be late. You have only one chance to be accepted in." - she explains.
"Are you... I mean, would I... I don't know how to ask. People say things about you..." - you take all your courage and ask - "Is it about prostitution?"
Camila frowns upon what you said and responds - "Prostitute is someone who does something, knowing it is wrong or harmful, just for money. I am not such a person and never should you be, do you understand it?"
You nod your head, even not being completely sure.
"I know people say things about me, and they might say about you as well. But I do what I do because I am free. I do it for the benefit of others. But it is too soon for you to understand."- said that, she turns around and lives.
You are confused and afraid, but curious at the same time and you decided to go to that address. You arrived on time. It is an old and elegant two store house in a fancy part of the city. There is a cab parked in front of it and you have the feeling the driver is observing you. You climb three steps that put you right in front of the door. You are about to knock at the door when a last minute doubt comes to you.
If you decide to take that journey, knock at my door (send me a PM and a reply to this thread). You must present yourself, state your name, describe your clothes and your feelings. You will have full control of yourself and can do whatever you find appropriate. I will be in control of the scenery and the flow of the time. Camila told me about you and that you have potential to be set free. As your new mentor, I will be the judge of that.
