EPA at it again Jan 25 refrigerant manufacturers no longer can produce R410a refrigerant. Why do we care? Equipment prices will cost a min of 10% more not to mention xtra labor. If your ac goes out you will have to change indoor unit as well as outdoor unit, also refrigerant piping will either need replaced (recommended) or flushed with a flush kit. If your home has a system that is over 12-15 years old you might wanna replace it this spring or summer as manufacturers are retooling their plants for the new systems. Furthermore the dealers will not be allowed to sell R41a refrigerant equipment after Jan 25 so they will not wanna be left with that inventory and im guesng by Nov 24 they will be hard to find. Last time the EPA did something like this with 1 years notice it caused major supply chain issues for contractors and customers but hey they gotta climate emergency to fix
