What's the point of telling or asking someone to PM you in a thread? If you want someone to PM you, just PM them yourself. Yeah that annoys me when I see people asking it in threads.

In a way I agree with you, but I guess if you pm someone you will either get a response or you don’t and then you have your answer as well

In a chat room I somewhat get asking someone to PM them. In a forum and if it is constant... not so much. Just PM them and if you get a response you do... and if you don't, you don't.

I agree with you for here in forums however in chat I like for people to asked me if its ok as i really like main interaction they dont have to asked in main but can atlease whisper so that i have a choice to say yes or no it depent on the reason why they want to pm.
