When someone tries to say they understand my health issues and go through similar symptoms and mention they have celiac disease which sucks to have and it is an autoimmune condition but my illness isn't an autoimmune condition and not related to food as I've been tested for CD and it was negative.
My nausea and symptoms aren’t from an immune or food reaction — they come from a nervous system issue called Functional Dyspepsia and central sensitivity. Basically, my brain and stomach miscommunicate, so I can feel sick even without eating at times. It’s more of a nervous system disorder than a food-related one.
My condition isn’t caused by inflammation or autoimmunity. It’s more of an automatic miscommunication between my brain and digestive system. My nervous system reacts inappropriately to normal digestion, which makes me feel nauseous or uncomfortable even when nothing is actually wrong structurally. It’s not something I control — it just happens.
So I get that someone wants to try to relate to you but they just don't understand that their health conditions aren't the same as mine so it's annoying when they try to say they understand how I feel when in reality they don't.
