Recently there seems to be a few idiots ruining threads is there any way of giving the person who started the thread the right to remove posts on that thread.
Obviously no right to adjust anyone else's just their own

If the op post drivel then usually no one posts in that thread, popular threads drive the forum and having someone post dick pics on it, shift the topic of the thread tangentially or even as I have seen recently deliberately trying to shut down a thread as a prank, these kind of actions aren't good for a forum where we are hoping to drive interaction especially when the chat side of things isn't going so well.

Report such posts in threads where more or less serious discussion is taking place, where such posts draw a huge backlash or are otherwise grossly disruptive.

Keep in mind though, this is a public forum and the only valid violations are spam/scam/illegal/unde*age/personal content.

For minor annoyances, you can block the user—quickest way is to click on their username in the post and click on ignore when the account card pops up.

Nothing has changed since the inception of this forum. I haven't seen an increase of what you're describing and things are running fine.
