The U.S. Embassy in South Korea has not paid rent for using its site since 1980. The amount of rent over the past 38 years exceeds 90 billion won ($79 million). The reason for this has been stated that operations of the United States Agency for International Development-Korea (USAID-Korea), and its predecessor United States Operations Mission (USOM) have long since come to an end, and this removes legal grounds for free use of the embassy building.

What has S.Korea done to try to collect? Or are they just writing it off ? And what excuse does the U.S give for not paying? Maybe y'all could blast k -pop 24 hours until the embassy begs the State Department to send a check. Put huge speakers right out front.

Well that U. S. embassy is being moved and that is how they found out they never paid. South Korea has thirteen embassies in U.S. that are either paid in full or the buildings are being rented. I think the lack of enforcing USA to pay is from the same part of the government that has failed to collect taxes from foreigners. Also blasting k-pop will not work, a lot of Americans enjoy k-pop. I do remember the first song we played over the DMZ was Wannabe by Spice Girls. Maybe we play that 24/7

Ok it's just lack of enforcement in general . Spice girls might work. Unless most of the embassy staff are girls who were pre teens in the 90's . In that case they will just throw a party.
