It loads but I cannot see anyone in chat if that helps

It doesn't help. Attach a screenshot. Try setting all chat Preferences to default.

If I may. Its pretty common for me. Usually relogging fixes it or just click chats in the bottom corner and join some chat room. Those two usually work. This happeneds to me when I inproperly close the site on my phone or didnt log out fully when I wanna leave
