I have no one to tag, so this is for everyone that needs to hear it (I did not write this):
I have many friends for whom Valentine's Day is painful, and they are on my heart this morning. So for all of you who have dreaded Valentine's Day because it stirs emotional pain and heartache, I want you to know that someone sees you and cares.
For those...
who feel alone today
who fear they will never find the love they long for
who are grieving and hurting over love they lost
who have been wounded by a betrayal
for those in relationships who feel unloved
for those who are sifting through the carnage of a broken relationship and family
who are suffering the anguish of regret
who feel forgotten
for those who have been damaged from the abuse of past relationships
for those who feel inadequate, unworthy, and unlovable
for those who have internalized the message - "It must be me"
who doubt they can ever trust again
who long to be touched and held
who miss someone so badly that it aches
who want to give up on love
for those who want to know and feel they are special
for those who are depressed and feel deep loneliness...
for all of these and others who are hurting today, I offer my empathy, compassion, and love.
I stand respectfully on the edge of your heartache in silence, and I suffer for you and with you. I have also felt many of those same feelings. You are not alone. I don't pretend to understand the extent of your hurt and heartache, but I do care, stand in loving solidarity with you in your pain, and hold a wish in my heart for your healing, freedom and joy.
I believe that every moment offers a new starting line:
a line from which to imagine and create new possibilities
a line from which to start over again
a line toward healing and restoration,
a line to discover ultimate love within ourselves
Whatever that line might mean for you, I stand on that line with you today.
