How are you going to talk to people if you don't know what the Hell is going on?
 
Think of each thread as a chain-mail email, which everyone replies to, and each forum (or forum section) different inbox or folder.
 
Does this mean if I don't send this thread for twenty different people by midnight I wj be cursed for ten years?
 
Yes.

And you will be forced to write your name every day in red ink, number everything using #4, keep a crow as a pet, sleep with an air fan on, cut your toenails at night, shake your legs every morning, leave home only by stepping on a threshold, *insert more bad luck superstitions here*.
