Watching the may sumo basho. A bit disappointed to see Ozeki Aonishiki forfeited. Sunce he's kadoban Ozeki, he will be demoted to Sekiwake. It will take him at least 4 tournaments, probably a year or more to get to Yokozuna... Speaking of yokozuna: Onosato aslo forfeited, so besides Kirishima who seems to have regained his strength from 2025, my favorite rikishi Hoshoryu has a good chance of winning his first basho since promoting to yokozuna.
Yeah. Im became a bit a sumo nerd after watching a tournament in Tokyo a few years ago. It's by far my favorit sport to watch.
Ps: and nipping on a Kujira 15 while watching
(when properly handwarmed, plums and liquorice just explode.. but the pepper finish that lasts forever is still the highlight).
Ps2: i'm afraid Hoshoryu got injured. Shame on you Takayasu...
Ps3: watching day 2 now. Yep. He's injuried.
