What is love really?

Is it a real thing or is it just another made up concept? I say love is either hard to obtain or it isn't real. Perhaps people do not understand what love really is. In my opinion love is genuine, concrete, and everlasting. It's like this. You marry someone and they say they are in love with you. However, later on in life they tell you they want to break up and no longer have the love for you anymore. Well what happened? Why don't they love you anymore? What was the point of us marrying each other if we are now separating? Perhaps when people change their feelings do as well, but then they never had the love for you in the first place. If love is a real thing, then it is never lost only forgotten.

It can be fickle, and it can be confused with other things like desire or friendship. Real love is permanent, but it is also not enough to base forever on. You have to have lots in common to last forever, not just love for one another, since you can love many people at once and vice versa.
